Editorial Policy
Our guidelines for cryptographic accuracy, physical testbed verification, code reproducibility, and zero-secrets security.
1. The Zero-Secrets Security Mandate
Cryptographic security requires absolute user sovereignty over entropy. Every diagnostic guide, code snippet, and interactive utility published on LayerZeroFault adheres to our non-negotiable Zero-Secrets mandate:
- Never Ask for Mnemonics: We will never ask users to enter, upload, transmit, or share their 12- or 24-word seed phrase or private keys.
- Extended Public Key (XPUB) Enforcement: When derivation path inspection is required, our guides and tools operate strictly on Extended Public Keys (XPUB, YPUB, ZPUB) or public Ethereum/Bitcoin addresses.
- Offline Air-Gapped Sandboxing: All mathematical verification utilities run 100% client-side via native browser WebCrypto. Users are encouraged to save pages locally and run them on air-gapped computers disconnected from the internet.
2. Physical Testbench Verification
We do not publish theoretical conjectures. Every troubleshooting guide undergoes physical validation before editorial sign-off:
Hardware Device Verification
Step-by-step procedures are verified against physical hardware devices (Ledger Stax, Flex, Nano X, Trezor Safe 3) running the latest vendor firmware.
Contract Execution & RPCs
Account Abstraction (ERC-4337) and smart wallet calldata decoders are executed against live bundlers and testnet EntryPoint contracts.
3. Code Quality & Dependency Pinning
Code snippets provided in guides must be functional, safe, and reproducible. We enforce:
- Explicit Version Pinning: All package dependencies (e.g. Viem, Wagmi, ElizaOS, Biconomy, Permissionless) must explicitly cite tested major and minor versions.
- Defensive Programming: Code examples must include proper error handling, bounds checking, and input sanitization to prevent accidental asset loss.
- Non-Destructive Instructions: Guides must prioritize non-destructive recovery dry-runs before suggesting irreversible actions (such as device resets or cache wiping).
4. Commercial Independence & Advertising
LayerZeroFault operates with complete editorial autonomy:
- Clear Separation: Advertising units (served via Google AdSense or crypto-native ad networks) are visually distinct from editorial content and marked with standard disclaimers.
- No Paid Reviews: We do not accept payment to promote insecure protocols, unverified wallets, or speculative tokens.
- Affiliate Transparency: When affiliate links are utilized (e.g. to official hardware wallet stores), they are marked with
rel="sponsored"and do not influence technical recommendations.
5. Corrections & Errata Policy
Blockchain infrastructure evolves rapidly. When a protocol upgrade, hard fork, or vendor firmware patch alters a documented procedure, we update the article promptly. If you detect an inaccuracy or breaking change in any guide, please notify our team via Contact Us.
